TBRU™ Highlights

 

​Texas Bear Round-Up™ is an annual Bear Run hosted by the Dallas Bears and held at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Dallas, Texas. Featuring a multitude of events at the hotel all weekend long, as well as optional upgrades/off-site excursions to add on, this event caters specifically to bears, cubs, chubs, and their admirers. TBRU™ is produced by a staff comprised solely of volunteers. The Dallas Bears is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. The proceeds from TBRU™ are distributed to three local 501(c)(3) charities. It's a "party with a purpose."

Hospitality:

TBRU™ is famous for its Texas-sized Hospitality Suite. Join us nightly in the 21,000-square-foot Marsalis Hall B for hospitality done right, Texas style. We’ll have complimentary drinks waiting for you served up by the friendliest staff, a house DJ each night, places to sit and socialize, and plenty of space to mix and mingle as you meet up with old friends and make some new ones along the way. And don’t forget all the men!

 

First Timers (& Friends) Meet & Greet:

Designed to help first-time TBRU™ guests feel welcome meet some new guys and get started off on the right foot. Whether this is your first TBRU™ experience or not, everyone is invited to join in on the fun. There will be some icebreaker games, drinks, and plenty of laughs.

 

Kick-Off Party & Costume Contest:

Join the Dallas Bears as we officially kick off TBRU™. A brief welcome from our Moderator will proceed with the on-stage Costume Contest with fabulous prizes.  Following the Kick-Off Party, the ballroom turns into our famous Hospitality Suite.

 

Mr. TBRU Contest:

During our Family Dinner cheer on your favorite Bears, Cubs, and Admirers in this fast-paced (one-hour) contest as they compete to win the title in their category. One overall winner will also earn the title of Mr. TBRU™. Are you interested in entering the contest? Read the contest details here.

 

Connections Lounge:

Want a place to hang out that is a little less busy than the Hospitality Suite? Prefer to hang out somewhere that is alcohol-free? Then our Connections Lounge is for you! Here you’ll find a small selection of coffee via a Keurig machine, water, board games, and card games.

 

Video Game Room:

Setup with video and computer games, this is the place for all you gamers to come to hang out and meet fellow TBRU™ gamers.

 

Deaf Bears (& Friends) Socials:

The Dallas Bears has a growing number of members who are deaf or hard of hearing. They will be hosting several social opportunities throughout the weekend as a time for all of the deaf and hard-of-hearing bears and friends who use ASL (American Sign Language) to gather.

 

 

Friends of Bill W:

We support our Bear Family in Recovery. Join us for our daily meetings.

Raffle:

Raffle tickets will be sold during the weekend and the winning tickets will be drawn Saturday night and posted by 10:00 pm outside the Hospitality Suite. It features a variety of prizes including electronics, beverages, videos, gift baskets, artwork, gift cards, run passes, and more. All of the proceeds from the sale of raffle tickets go to our three beneficiaries.

Black Bears Reception:

Join the Dallas Bears president as he hosts a special reception for our Black Bears Reception. Black Lives Matter to the Dallas Bears and this annual reception is in your honor. We invite all of our black bears and family to join us for this smaller reception in your honor. Snacks and drinks will be served. See the schedule for the time and location.

Asian Bear Reception:

Join the Dallas Bears president as he hosts a special reception for our Asian bear family. We invite all of our Aisin bears and family to join us for this annual event - a smaller reception in your honor. Snacks and drinks will be served. See the schedule for the time and location.

Osos Latino Reception:

Join the Dallas Bears president as he hosts a special reception for our Latino bear family. We invite all of our Latin bears and family to join us for this smaller reception in your honor. Snacks and drinks will be served. See the schedule for the time and location.

 

Food Events

TBRU™ Family Dinner:

Join us Saturday night in the Reunion Ballroom for our annual TBRU™ Family Dinner.  Good food & good friends.

 

TBRU™ Texas BBQ:

It just wouldn’t be right for you to visit Texas and not have some good ‘ole Texas BBQ! Join us Sunday at 12:00PM for the “best BBQ in the world” at the closing ceremony. At the end of the closing ceremony, be the first to hear the theme and see the artwork for TBRU™ 28 (the best-kept secret in town – as only two people know the results). Our President bids farewell to our guests and gives thanks to the TBRU™ Planning Team, We also toast to the Future of TBRU™ and pray for the sanity of next year’s planning team.

 

Games

Naughty Bear Bingo:

It’s bingo with an entertaining and naughty twist - a fusion of strip poker and bingo. The shy and timid should not attend. This is for all you naughty and adventurous attendees. Laughter, fun, nudity, and prizes will abound.

 

Puppy Play Room:

Pups and Handlers are welcome to this safe play space. Bring your pup gear and get ready to play with other pups.

 

Other Fun

“Church” at the Hidden Door:

Sunday after the BBQ lunch, isn’t your mamma’s church! Join hundreds of Bears and lots of adult beverages for “church” Dallas-style on the patio of the Hidden Door. It’s a tradition that you just can’t miss!
